Flexi Bak - exercise movement 3

Getting Started with the flexi-bak back stretcher:movement 3

  • Place your feet 24 inches apart. Let your left leg drop inwards towards the right leg.
  • Then let your right leg drop inwards towards the left leg.
  • One side will feel more difficult or painful than the other. You do not need to drop them to the floor. Just far enough until you get an impression of which way is easiest and which way is more difficult. Again any difficulties, close your eyes to get a better impression.
  • Whichever way was EASIEST** drop that leg slowly in that direction until you hit a point of natural resistance. This is the point after which you need to force your leg inwards.

Example.
Right side easy, so 5 drops inwards hold each for 5 seconds EACH time

  • Now hold and count to yourself 1….2….3….4…5… Then lift that leg back to the starting position.
  • Repeat this drop inwards and hold to the easy side 5 times.
  • After the fifth time dropping your leg to the easy side, drop your other leg inwards to what was the DIFFICULT side and count to yourself 1…2…3…4…5…. That’s it finished.
  • Remember Easy side first, five swings each held for five, difficult side last, one times five.

Finally the most important step!

After performing your exercises move the Flexibak to the position where it is most comfortable in case it has moved. Now RELAX!

Do nothing.

Breathe evenly and SINK into your Flexibak. Allow gravity to stretch and open your lower back. Lie still and enjoy. Let your joints glide apart and heal. Stay here as long as you wish.

When you’re ready ROLL over onto your side and come up from ‘all fours’. Turn the locking mechanism to the RIGHT to tighten up your Flexibak then store until next time.
